Dart-Code is switching to using the Language Server Protocol for improved performance

If you use the Dart programming language, for developing Flutter applications for example, you may get the following message in your IDE:

Dart-Code is switching to using the Language Server Protocol for improved performance. Would you like to enable it now?

What does Language Server Protocol mean, and should you enable it? The short answer is yes. Here’s why.

Language Server Protocol is a protocol used to facilitate the communication between an IDE (like Visual Studio Code, for example) and the language server (which is a server which provides language features like auto complete, go to definition, find all references etc.).

In other words enabling this feature will give you better support for features like auto complete. For any questions, feel free to leave a comment here, or use the contact page.

My post is not showing in the Blog List widget. How to fix?

If you use The7 Blog List widget, and you’re having an issue with displaying all blog posts, then this might help you solve the problem. First, I will describe the problem that I’m trying to fix, and then present a solution that should help fix the problem.

The problem

You create a post, and then you add a “Blog List” widget to display your new post. But, the problem is that you don’t see your newly-added post. It is not showing at all. This usually happens when the website is still new, and you don’t have a lot of posts created.

The fix

The first thing you want to do is go to the Blog List settings. Under the General tab, make sure that “All posts” is selected under the “Show” field. Or, at least that the category of your post is part of the categories in the “Show” field.

Blog List settings - general
Blog List settings – make sure that “All posts” is selected

Next, go to the “Pagination & Categorization”, and make sure that the “Posts offset” is set to 0. If the number in this field is more than 0, then the list will skip some posts. For example, if you set the offset to 2, then the list will start from the 3rd post.

Blog List settings - pagination
Blog List settings – make sure that “Posts offset” is set to 0

That’s it! After making these changes, your post will be displayed by the Blog List widget.
